My latest album men was born out of witnessing the desperation that so many live in during these modern times.
When I began to write the album, I had recently taken up walking—taking long walks with my dog, mostly in nature; by the lake or in the woods.
The album was originally titled “Pagan Beach,” and was an album about rediscovering yourself in the midst of nature. However, during the time that I was writing it, I moved to the downtown area of my city. There I continued with my long walks, through the city, and saw so much suffering and desperation, affecting primarily men of all ages and races.
Due to this, the album’s focus changed and the title became, simply, “Men.”
I recorded the album in one long messy take, trying to capture the rawness and desperation of the topic in the way it was recorded.
